Mandatory Update is a comedy news show hosted by Isla Hinck and Elyse Willems that presents a satirical look at the biggest stories in gaming. It originally started as a show on GameTrailers before later being revived as an Easy Update segment.
History[]
During the show's initial run on GameTrailers from 2014-2016, Rob Slusser occasionally served as a comic relief for the show. A special extended podcast version of the show known as Mandatory Update Nights was also featured. The final episode aired on GT on February 8, 2016 prior to the company being shut down by owner Defy Media.
The show was later revived at Easy Allies as a special Easy Update segment on December 29, 2018. Prior to its revival, Mandatory Update segments such as Opinion Yell! and Jolly Co-op were already brought into Easy Allies. Two additional Mandatory Update episodes later premiered in 2021.
