Amateur Gundam Construction is a series of streams where the Allies put together Gundam models called Gunpla while casually chatting with each other and chat. The streams would often create many new jokes and memes such as I Play By Myself.
The streams primarily featured Ben, Brad, and Kyle building Gunpla. Following Kyle and Ben's departures, Huber and Gabby took their places in the streams.
History[]
The first season of Amateur Gundam Construction debuted on January 19, 2017 and ended on January 26, 2018. The streams were put on hiatus so that the Allies could dedicate more time on other ongoing projects.
After a long hiatus, Amateur Gundam Construction was brought back after feedback from the community and Season 2 was announced on August 13, 2019 during the Phase 4 Announcements.[1] The second season officially premiered on September 17, 2019 but was subsequently placed on hiatus in April 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Easy Allies officially returned to The Studio as a group on June 10, 2021. The date coincided with all of the Allies being fully vaccinated and COVID-cleared as well as the first day of E3. The July 2021 stream was the first Gundam stream back since returning to The Studio.
On September 4, 2021, a special edition of Amateur Gundam Construction was streamed during Easy Chillin'. Another special stream occurred during EZX 2022.
During Easy Chillin’ 2022, a special fundraising goal was met for Brad to purchase and pick out a Perfect Grade gundam to build on stream. Chat helped him pick one during a Hang Out Stream and the RX-78-2 won. Amateur Gundam Construction officially returned on December 15, 2022 with Gabby joining Brad.
A special dual Amateur Gundam + LEGO Construction combo stream was held during EZX 2023.
