Game Sleuth was a series produced by Michael Damiani that examined video game myths, mysteries, secrets, theories, and easter eggs, often going through rigorous tests and research to prove whether or not they're true. The show made its debut on June 20, 2016 and aired its final episode on October 31, 2018.
It served as a spiritual successor to Pop Fiction, a show created by Damiani during his tenure at GameTrailers that follows the same premise.
History[]
Not long after Easy Allies launched, Damiani began brainstorming the idea for Game Sleuth with former GT colleague, Marco Rosado. Due to how quickly the Patreon took off, Damiani had to accelerate his original timetable for launching the series. Marco and his work partner Dan Racusin created the new show graphics and the first episode, "Can You Beat the Running Man in Ocarina of Time?" spent about a month in production prior to its debut on June 20, 2016.
On August 13, 2019, Game Sleuth officially ended production as part of the Phase 4 Announcements[1] to allow Damiani to move on to other projects. Damiani provided additional context in his Game Sleuth Farewell post on Patreon on October 14, 2019, discussing at length the history of both Pop Fiction and Game Sleuth as well as his desire for a bigger focus on streaming and being together with the Allies more often.[2]
During EZX 2023, an ongoing Patreon goal was announced. If the Patreon hits over 6,000 Patrons, Damiani will produce a brand new episode of Game Sleuth.
