Swimming in 7s is a phrase that refers to the appreciation of average games, usually when speaking about more than one of them. It is based on the scoring system used by most review sites, ranging from 1 to 10.
Origins[]
The concept originated back at GameTrailers in 2015 during an episode of The First Fifteen where people used to say that Huber loved 7.0 games like nobody else. Huber has since embraced and incorporated this into his Huberisms, coming from the notion that not every game has to be perfect, and they might even be really bad in some aspects, but they can still be enjoyable or at least respected.
Twitch Emote[]
Due to the popularity of the phrase, it also became a common Twitch emote used when discussing games in that scoring range. An animated version was later introduced after Twitch added the feature.
