The Easy Allies Puppet Spectacular was a puppet show and community fundraiser goal organized and directed by Brandon Jones. The special acted as the final $25,000 fundraising goal reward during EZX Digital '21 to assist with ongoing expenses, improve The Studio, updating equipment, and plan future events.
The Puppet Spectacular featured both skits and original musical performances along with the triumphant return of Buttons.
History[]
On March 22, 2021, Easy Allies hosted the first day of EZX Digital '21, their second EZX anniversary celebration. They revealed a multitude of fundraising goals for the entire weeklong event, including the final $25,000 goal for an Easy Allies Puppet Spectacular. On the final day of EZX Digital '21, a last-minute push put them over the goal with a final total of $26,358 raised. Jones then went to work on producing the puppet show.
The Easy Allies Puppet Spectacular officially premiered live on Twitch on June 9, 2021. Jones did a live intro and outro as the puppet MC, Mikey, but the rest of the show was prerecorded. The following week, Jones filmed a prerecorded episode of Cup of Jones in which he provided some behind-the-scenes details regarding the production of the Puppet Spectacular, ideas that didn't make it in, inspirations for what did, and a special outtake that didn't make the cut.
