Trailer Jones was a show produced by Brandon Jones where the Allies discuss and rate newly released trailers for video games and films.
The show is a spiritual successor to Jones' old GameTrailers shows, Let's All Go to the Trailers[1], Trailer Academy[2] and Trailer Score[3].
History[]
The show premiered episode 0 during their E3 2017 coverage on June 19, 2017. Their first true episode debuted on July 1, 2017 discussing the Starcraft: Remastered - We Are Under Attack trailer.
After a hiatus, Trailer Jones returned on May 19, 2018 with brand new graphics, logo, and presentation. The show switched from discussing a single trailer to multiple trailers per episode.
On August 13, 2019, it was revealed during the Phase 4 Announcements that Trailer Jones would be changing its format to individual trailer discussions and would feature audio only commentary placed over the trailer itself. The new format premiered on October 22, 2019 with new graphics and a presentation reminiscent of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
On March 13, 2020, Kyle Bosman announced via Patreon post[4] that he would be departing from Easy Allies the following month, citing that he needed to find his life's "main thing." In the same post, he mentioned that the Easy Allies Podcast would be hosted by Jones. Due to the increased responsibilities hosting the podcast, Trailer Jones was put on hiatus.
Format[]
Each episode has three Allies rate the trailers, with Jones being the only guest to appear in every episode. Though the format has changed multiple times, it is now decided that the Allies will judge three different trailers in a single episode. After viewing and discussing an individual trailer, the allies will each rate it on a 100 point scale. After they have shared their scores, they will average them into one final, definitive trailer score. Later, the format shifted back to discussing a single trailer per episode.
